Gasp! Did you just type that? Really?! In 2014? I am a “homemaker???” Has feminism been totally and completely lost on me? Well no, it hasn’t. The fact is, I AM a homemaker. I do not work outside my home. My home and the people in it are my work and I am proud of that. This is what I want to be right now. Shlepping 3 kids (15, 6 and 4) everywhere is what I want to do. Being there to kiss every boo boo, organize birthday parties, and make my home as homey as possible is where I want to be in my life. My husband works very hard and so do I, I just don’t leave the house to do it. I am certainly not June Cleaver. I don’t even own pearls. I am someone who loves antiques and DIY projects. I am a wanna be seamstress and nutritionist. I am a typical mom. That’s who I am and this is my soap box. I’m not here to preach about anything or to tell you how to do things better. I am here to share my DIY projects, my mommy ideas, recipes or whatever other experiences I may have that could be useful to you. Sometimes I may even post something in hopes that you have a better idea of how to do something than the way I am doing it. My name is Jillian and I’m happy to meet you. I hope you stick around because we just may be able to learn something from each other. Please feel free to introduce yourself in the comments. I would love to hear from you.
