Summer is in full swing around here. I must admit, I love the lazy mornings and casual schedule. One thing that tends to go awry during the summer is our diet! My head is in the garden, not the kitchen, and meal planning…..BLAH! The only thing that keeps that going from September through June is school, work and sports schedules which leave zero time for midweek grocery store trips.
Sometimes I get stuck in a rut of grilled chicken and veggies every stinkin’ night. By the end of the summer I feel like throwing the grill out and never eating chicken again. And don’t get me started on snacks. I’m not a big “convenience” food person. My kids are subjected to my aversion to food coloring, ingredients I can’t pronounce and high fructose corn syrup. Try finding a plethora of go to snacks that fit that criteria, that kids will actually like. It’s a little tough.
Thankfully, a stop for coffee on a day that I forgot to eat breakfast (Am I the only one that does that?) lead me to my new favorite snack for myself AND my kids.
I was provided with a wide variety of Nature’s Bakery Fig Bars in order to write my review. This post contains affiliate links.
Let me introduce you to Nature’s Bakery Fig Bars. I am so not a “bar” person. I have tried them all and I have wanted to like even one of them, but nope. Nada. None. I only grabbed one of these from the counter because I was starving and it said Non GMO and it only had 9 grams of sugar (in one bar which is only half the pack just so you know.) I could totally pronounce all the ingredients and the only thing that I found questionable was the caramel color. Thank goodness upon further examination I realized it is an all natural caramel color and I didn’t have to give up on these bars. You can find out about their caramel color and lots of other information on their FAQ page.
I absolutely love these bars, apple cinnamon, blueberry and strawberry happen to be a few of my favorite flavors. My kids love them too and they are picky!
I haven’t seen them in many stores around me but you can find them on Amazon and have them delivered right to your door by clicking here.
