I love inexpensive projects that make a big impact. I needed something for that awkward spot under the windows in my daughter’s room but it needed to work around an outlet and fit the odd dimensions. I thought embroidery hoop wall art would work nicely and incorporate some fun patterns into the space.
I grabbed some fabric options from Hobby Lobby’s clearance section and couple of fun patterned bandanas. At under a dollar each, the bandanas are a fantastic option for a project like this.
Here’s how you can make your own embroidery hoop wall art.
Start with some embroidery hoops in various sizes and stain or paint them your desired color.
Take the inner circle and place your fabric over it.
Take the outer circle, loosen the screw at the top, and push it over the inner circle.
This should pull the fabric tight. Now, tighten the screw.
Flip the hoop over and cut off any excess fabric.
Arrange all your completed hoops on the floor or a table to get the display just the way you want it, and hang them.
It’s as simple as that.
I found that cute sea horse nightlight on clearance at Pottery Barn. It helps hide that outlet a little more.
So what do you think? Are some embroidery hoops in your future?
