What are your favorite traditions for the holidays? Is it carols and hot chocolate while putting up the Christmas lights? How about hanging the stockings after trimming the tree? Do you have a gingerbread decorating night?
Me? I like to craft with my kids. I think it is an amazing reminder of how our children have grown each year by looking back at the way they crafted things in the past, and how much more detailed their creations become as the years pass.
These DIY cupcake ornaments are simple to make and fun for you to do yourself or with your kids, no matter their age. Theirs may not come out perfectly, but as long as you make memories it will be worth all the glitter on the floor.
Take some Mod Podge and apply it all over the top part of the ornament. Then sprinkle some glitter over it.
Put the ornament into the muffin cup. Gently pull the cup away from the ornament, add a bead of hot glue, and stick the cup to the ornament. You want to wait until the Mod Podge dries or the hot glue won’t stick to the ornament.
Add one more dab of hot glue to attach the pom pom “cherry” to the top.
If you would like to hang the ornament, add some string or an ornament hanger. I think it also looks adorable sitting on the counter.
Could this BE any cuter? (Channeling my inner Chandler right there.)
If you would rather just buy some fun cupcake ornaments, ain’t no shame in that. I even found some for you!
