Happy Monday everyone!!!! Today I am organizing my, not so finished, crafting space. It is a work in progress. This is the first time I have taken some dedicated space for my office/crafting/mess making and I am using a bakers rack upcycle to help.
The rack just didn’t fit into my decor anymore but it was begging to be repurposed.
I started by taking the grid off. At the time I had no idea what I would use it for but I knew it would have a purpose somewhere. Then I was left with the two long arms standing straight up. I took a pipe cutter to them and made them even with the other two legs. They were a little sharp at the edges but this was just going to be temporary storage in my shop so that was ok with me. A little duct tape over the top of them protected us from any scrapes.
I was so happy when I finally figured out that the grid would make a great memo board above my craft table.
First thing to do is find the studs using a stud finder and mark the wall. You don’t want it falling out one day when you decide to hang one thing too many.
Hang the grid using pipe straps. Be sure the screws land in the studs you marked earlier.
And there ya go! Now you have a place to hang inspirational messages, tie some thread up so you never have to go looking for it, and keep some pictures of your cute dog 🙂 Best of all, it was a totally free project.
I really love memo boards and memo board-like things. Having a place to pop all those papers you have no idea what else to do with, keeps me organized. Here are some of my favorite, ready made options.
