I welcome you to my home, all gussied up for Christmas.
Could Mother Nature have timed this snow fall any better? It doesn’t get more Christmasy than a fresh snow fall and twinkly lights. I just love Christmas lights. Part of me thinks they should stay up all year, but my neighbors may think I’m crazy so I guess I will take them down, before Easter, ha!
This is the first year I have added a tree to my front porch. I have always wanted to have two trees, next year there may be three…ya never know (update: 2015 I was back to one tree, my bench took the spot where tree #2 lived.) I decorated this one very simply with colored lights and Burlap and Button garland I made.
My porch is all decked out (pun intended) with garland, wreaths and kissing balls. I bought the balls plain and added some ribbon and berries to make them a little more festive.
As you enter my home this table greets you with Santa and some reindeer…and a cow and a pig but that’s ok cause they are gold and have red bows. That makes it all make sense right?
I love vintage Santas, this one has that feel so I put him front and center.
Next you come to my dining room. The buffet looks ready for guests with tea cups and wine glasses just waiting to be used.
I just love this little pinecone peeking out from the tea cup.
I popped an ornament into each wine glass and added a bunch more under a cloche. I think ornaments are the easiest Christmas decoration. You can toss them in a basket, vase, lantern and it all works. That’s why I never pass up a good deal on them after the holidays.
A winter light house is keeping watch on the top shelf. It reminds me of my wedding day. We got married on a lovely beach with a gorgeous lighthouse nearby.
I love all the reminiscing that comes with pulling out holiday decorations. Each piece reminds you of something special and each year brings new memories to add to your collection.
This is one of my favorite decorations this year. I have never used my vintage typewriter as a Christmas decoration before but the colors are perfect, I just had to work it in.
Doesn’t it just make you think that Santa sat with it, typing his Naughty and Nice list?
Ignore my ceiling please, the popcorn has got. to. go. But I love my chandelier. I added some greenery from my yard and hung some crystal ornaments to brighten it up for the holidays.
My wine rack is a little empty, don’t blame me! It’s all those cork crafts I needed to do! Oh well, the wreath takes the focus off the missing wine.
Lastly, my dining table. I love the elegance of the white poinsettia with the rustic clam basket. I’m not very good at centerpieces so this is about all I can muster. I did, however, embellish that burlap table runner a little.
Thanks for visiting. I hope you come back to see my living room.
