Happy Monday everyone!!!! Today I am organizing my, not so finished, crafting space. It is a work in progress. This is the first time I have taken some dedicated space, other than my kitchen island, for my crafting and mess making.
The workspace is almost finished. I used an old set of cube shelves that was destined for the trash, as the base for my workspace and for now it has a plywood top. That will be getting an update soon, or someday. But more on that later.
There was another piece of undetermined usefulness lurking in my basement….an old bakers rack.
While I trashed the rack itself, I kept the grid from the back. I have no idea why I kept it but something in my head said I could use it for something. And I finally figured out what to use it for! A memo board for above my craft table. All I needed were some pipe clamps and screws.
First thing I did was find a stud using a stud finder. Only one side of the grid was going to be on a stud for the clamps but I’m not planning on hanging anything heavy on it so I was ok with that. I live dangerously so I didn’t use any anchors on the non-stud side. I am too impatient to wait until my husband gets home to help me with things, so I very awkwardly held the grid up while I got the clamps on and screwed it in and tried to make it level. I think I did ok.
And there ya go. Now I have a place to hang inspirational messages my friends send me, tie some thread up so I never have to go looking for it, my scissors are safely out of reach of little hands and it is a tiny bit quirky, like me. Best of all, it was a totally free project.
I really love memo boards and memo board-like things. Having a place to pop all those papers you have no idea what else to do with, keeps me organized.
